Baptism is the foundation of the whole Christian life, the entryway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission. (CCC 1213).
The Sacrament of Baptism is scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on the first, second and third Sundays each month. Parents are requested to attend a Baptism Preparation Session for their first child which is held monthly in the parish rectory by Fr. Costa, Deacon Baxter, Deacon McGuire and Madelyn McBride (rotations) and members of the parish. Godparents may also attend, but it is not mandatory.
Godparents who are not members of the parish are required to submit a letter of eligibility from their Catholic parish and submit to SFA no later than ONE month prior to the Baptism date.
To plan your child’s Baptism and register for a Baptism Preparation session please contact Madelyn McBride at the rectory: 610-543-0848.
