Anointing of the Sick

The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick has its purpose, the conferral of a special grace on the Christian experiencing the difficulties inherent in the condition of grave illness or old age. A priest (or bishop) administers this sacrament.

The proper time for receiving this holy anointing has certainly arrived when the believer begins to be in danger of death because of illness or old age. Each time a Christian falls seriously ill, he may receive the Anointing of the Sick, and also when, after he has received it, the illness worsens. (CCC 1527-9)

Contact the Rectory at (610) 543-0848 for emergency Anointing of the Sick.

Should a parishioner be anticipating surgery, they are encouraged to request the Anointing of the Sick prior to their operation.

Occasionally there is an Anointing Mass celebrated for all parishioners desiring to receive the healing gifts of the sacrament.
