Inspired by Gospel values, a group of parishioners here
at St. Francis of Assisi under the guidance of our pastor, has
established a conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

The purpose is to meet the emergency material needs of others. True, Springfield is not a "poor community" but from time ot time we all need help , not just financial help.

Just as Jesus while on earth Jesus did not limit Himself to saving the souls of all people, so Jesus among us reaches out to help those in need.

Here are what this local group offers, in the Name of Jesus:

- Emergency financial help

- H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People in Emergencies with Transportation)

- Homebound Visitors (Regular friendly visiting, as brief as 15 minutes or longer, if you wish.)

and regular telephone contact.)

- Food & Clothing

- Joseph's People (Assistance in finding employment)

- Catholic Social Services (Information and referral to proper agencies)

- Government Aid Programs (Information Referral)

Confidentiality: The identity of those we help is protected. Only the pastor and those members who meet with you face-to-face will know your identify, if that is your wish.

Number to call for any of the above assistance: 610 573 1077; say it is a St. Vincent de Paul call.
