What or who are the Liturgical Linen  Ladies (and Men) of St. Francis of Assisi Parish?

Did you ever wonder?  Who does the laundry that the Church produces from every Mass or Liturgical Service?

 Yes? . . .

Maybe? . . ..

 Who cares? . ....

The Church teaches that all cloths that touch the Body and Blood of Our Lord must be washed respectfully and by themselves with no other laundry at all.  At St. Francis we have a dedicated group of women and some men who dutifully gather up the dirty linens and wash them.  Ironing and folding them and placing them back into the Sacristy to be used at another Service.  In days gone by this duty was normally carried out by the Nuns of the parish and later by lay men and women.  Our parishioners take pride in knowing that they are serving their Church and God by helping to keep the Linens clean.

The following persons help clean linens at St. Francis of Assisi Church:

Marianne Calabrese: Mary Ann Calabrese; Phyllis Dunn; Anita Guille; Norma Miller; Mildred Mullen; Pat McGuire; Deacon Art McGuire; Linda Sanelli; Joyce Wallacavage; Michael Wallacavage; Deacon Tim Baxter.

Are you interested in helping the Church in a very easy but important way?  Contact you local Parish Church to find out what you can do.

If you are a parishioner at St. Francis call us at 610-543-0848 to volunteer your time and talents.

God Bless!
