A few Ceremonies
Commissioning of Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist
Dear friends in Christ, our brothers and sisters are to be entrusted with administering the Eucharist and with taking communion to the sick.

In this ministry, you must be examples of Christian living in faith and conduct; you must strive to grow in holiness through this sacrament of unity and love. Remember that, though many, we are one body because we share the one bread and one cup.

As ministers of holy communion be, therefore, especially observant of the Lord's command to lover your neighbor.

Priest: Are you resolved to undertake the office of ministering the body and blood of the Lord to your brothers and sisters, and so serve to build up the Church?

Respond: I am

Priest: Are you resolved to administer the holy Eucharist with the utmost care and reverence?

Prayer of Blessing

Dear friends in Christ, let us pray with confidence to the Father; let us ask him to bestow his blessings on our brothers and sisters, chosen to be ministers of the Eucharist.

Merciful Father, creator and guide of your family, bless our brothers and sisters.

May the faithfully give the bread of life to your people.

Strengthened by this sacrament, may they come at last to the banquet of heaven.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

up Renewal of Marriage Vows
Dear Friends, you have come together in this Church so that the Lord may continue to seal and strengthen your love with His grace in the presence of the Church's minister and this community. Christ has abundantly blessed your love and he has consecrated you by the special sacrament of Matrimony so that you may fulfill the duties of marriage in mutual and lasting fidelity. Since it is your intention to renew this commitment, please join your right hands and renew your consent before God and His Church.

The Bridegrooms say:

I, N. take you, N., to be my wife. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life.

The Brides say:

I, N. take you, N., to be my husband. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life.

My dear friends, let us ask God for his continued blessing upon these couples.

Holy Father, creator of the universe, maker of man and woman in your own likeness, source of blessing for married life, we humbly pray to you for these couples who today have renewed their marriage vows.

May your fullest blessing come upon them so that they may continue to rejoice in your gift of married love.

Lord, may they praise you when they are happy and turn to you in their sorrows. May they be glad that you help them in their work and know that you are with them in their need. May they pray to you in the community of the Church, and be your witnesses in the world May they reach old age in the company of their friends, and come at last to the kingdom of heaven.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
